Dr. Molly Worthen

Molly Worthen is an associate professor of history at UNC and a freelance journalist. She received her BA and PhD from Yale University. Her research focuses on North American religious and intellectual history, and her most recent book, Spellbound, is a history of charisma in American history. Her last book, Apostles of Reason, examined American evangelical intellectual life since 1945. She regularly contributes to the New York Times, writing about religion, politics, and higher education.
