A Pathway for Christ-centered Education at UNC

The Certificate in Christian Thought at the North Carolina Study Center provides students with a pathway for Christ-centered education at UNC. This program is designed to bring coherence to our wide array of educational offerings while allowing students the flexibility to craft a program of study suited to their interests. By completing core requirements and electives, students will be challenged to grow in their knowledge and love of Christ, will be introduced to the riches of Scripture and the Christian tradition, will reflect on life’s ‘big questions’ (i.e. meaning, purpose, morality, the nature of ‘the good life’, etc.) and will be equipped for lives of faithful discipleship.

Build Your Own Curriculum

Certificate students are required to complete 16 credits total. Eleven of those credits come from completing the first two years of our Fellows program along with a capstone project during their senior year. For the additional five credits, students are invited to build their own curriculum in conversation with Study Center staff. If you have questions about any of the individual program components, please contact Andrew. To download a PDF of the certificate requirements, click here.
