Mary Kathryn Harrah

Mary Kathryn, also known as “MK,” is from Yorktown, Virginia. MK received a bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was also a member of the field hockey team & heavily involved with the campus ministry, Athletes in Action (2015-2019). After her undergraduate studies at UNC, MK then went on to receive a Master’s of Divinity with a Sports Ministry concentration from Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary in Waco, Texas. MK graduated from Truett Seminary in May 2022 & moved back to Chapel Hill in July 2022 to join staff at the North Carolina Study Center. 

MK enjoys one (or four) cups of black coffee a day, taking long walks, traveling the world, meeting new people, making go pro videos, & sharing good laughs with friends. A few of her favorite Chapel Hill spots are Purple Bowl, Brandwein’s Bagels, Bean Traders, Med Deli, Coco, Kipos, & The Loop. MK is passionate about discipleship, theology of food, theology of sports, hospitality, and engaging in stories with people.
