Why the Arts Matter to Faith in a Culture that Flattens Our Vision (Lecture + Performance with Dr. Jeremy Begbie)

  • Moeser Auditorium, Hill Hall 135 East Cameron Avenue Chapel Hill, NC, 27514 United States (map)

Why should the arts matter to people of faith? What can music teach us about God? How can the Church be a good steward of the arts in her life and worship?

Dr. Jeremy Begbie will explore these questions (and more!) through offering a joint lecture and performance on the grand piano in the newly renovated Moeser Auditorium of Hill Hall. Dr. Begbie is an ordained minister, a musician classically trained at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Thomas A. Langford Research Professor of Theology at Duke Divinity School, where he also directs the Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts.

This event is co-sponsored by the NC Study Center, College Collective, Intervarsity Grad and Faculty Ministries and Grace Community Church. All are welcome to attend!
